Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada is proud to announce the addition of added Ron Kullman to its board of directors. His position as chief risk officer at Toyota Savings Bank and more than 25 years of experience as a financial services executive make him a valuable asset to the nonprofit financial literacy organization’s board.
Kullman has worked in highly regulated industries and is well-versed in communicating risk to diverse audiences, from boards and C-suite officers to employee stakeholders. He successfully launched a new line of business and multiple risk management programs within complex organizations.
“We are excited to have Ron as part of our board. His passion for Junior Achievement’s mission is tried and true as shown through his personal volunteer time with youth, and his experience and efforts in helping the community will provide an excellent resource to our board,” said Michelle Jackson, president and CEO of Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada.
Kullman has a long history with Junior Achievement, starting as a classroom volunteer while at his first job with Capital One in Richmond, Vir., in the mid-1990s. He also taught JA financial literacy programming in classrooms in Chicago; Wilmington, Del.; Bloomington, Ill.; and now in Las Vegas.
Kullman has a Bachelor of Science in business administration in finance and economics from State University of New York at Fredonia and an MBA in finance and corporate accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology.
“I’ve seen how Junior Achievement helps students grow and develop life skills that will benefit them for many years to come while also inspiring them to become more engaged in the classroom,” said Kullman. “Now as a board member, I look forward to taking a more active role in bringing JA’s important lessons to even more youth in our community.”
