Cox Communications is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 to October 15, 2022, by honoring four Southern Nevadans for their contributions to our community.
Honorees include city of Las Vegas Councilwoman Olivia Diaz; NV Energy Executive Vice President, Business Development and External Relations Tony Sanchez; Linda Perez, CEO of The Shade Tree Shelter, and Cox Manager of Engineering/Product Development Peter Arsaga.
Cox partnered with the Las Vegas Lights FC to recognize the honorees during halftime of Saturday’s (Sept. 24) match vs. San Diego Loyal SC.
Cox donated $1,000 on behalf of each honoree to the nonprofit of their choice, including Dress for Success, Dream Big Nevada and Shine A Light Foundation.
English and Spanish PSAs featuring the honorees will air on Cox channels through October 15. Each is profiled on Doing More, Cox YurView Channel 14. The segment will air at 6 p.m. each Sunday through October 15. Additionally, Diaz, Sanchez and Perez are featured on Su Vida, Las Vegas, Cox YurView Channel 14, airing on Sunday at 7 p.m. through October 8.
Now in its third year, Cox’s Hispanic Heritage Month honorees reflect Southern Nevada’s diverse community where Hispanics/Latinos comprise 32 percent of the population, according to the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance’s 2022 Perspective.
