RENO, Nev. – Nevada Women’s Fund (NWF) Board of Directors is pleased to welcome Ila Achtabowski as President & CEO. She will assume day-to-day leadership and oversight of NWF’s operations and fulfill its mission of strengthening the community by empowering women to improve their lives through education.
Achtabowski comes to Nevada Women’s Fund as a proud native Nevadan born and raised in Fallon. She brings 25 years of business experience, having served as CEO of her family’s small loan company since 1999. While ensuring the profitability and growth of the family business, she worked extensively in the community, most notably at Junior Achievement of Northern Nevada, where she served as interim Executive Director. Achtabowski also sat on the WCSD Career and Technical Education Board representing Business & Entrepreneurship and the board of the Sierra Nevada Chapter of National Charity League.
“I am incredibly honored and excited to assume this role for an organization that does such important and empowering work for our region,” Achtabowski said. “The Nevada Women’s Fund staff and Board of Directors continue to be an esteemed and powerful group that truly have the success of women and families at the forefront of their mission.”
Achtabowski will be the organization’s fourth President & CEO since 1982, most recently taking over for Isabelle Rodriguez Wilson, who announced her retirement last month.
