Prominence Health Plan and the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce have relaunched and expanded its Association Health Plan coverage to businesses in the service, manufacturing, and transportation industries throughout the state of Nevada. Through a collaborative partnership with Prominence Health Plan, new and renewing chamber members can enroll in affordable, comprehensive medical care through one of the six plan options including HMO, POS and PPO, as well as access enhanced plan benefits that feature lower out-of-pocket costs and co-pays for Emergency Room and diagnostic services.
Association Health Plans offer benefits to companies with two (unrelated) to 50 employees. This arrangement allows small employers to join as one entity and purchase the type of coverage that is traditionally available to large group employers.
“Association Health Plans are a real game changer for small businesses, which are the lifeblood of our community. It levels the playing field as employers compete with larger organizations for recruitment and retention of qualified workers,” said Ann Silver, CEO of the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce.
Through an Association Health Plan, enrolled members will have access to the Prominence Health Plan statewide provider network. Select health plans also include access to an expansive national network that includes more than 6,300 hospitals and more than 1 million physicians across the country, an arrangement that is beneficial for companies with out-of-state employees and dependents.
If companies are not members of the Reno + Sparks Chamber of Commerce but are members of another Chamber within the applicable Nevada service areas, they can still enroll in the RSCC Association Health plans via the Affiliate program. Through this arrangement small group employers across the state become eligible. Participating service areas include Douglas County, Lyon County, Storey County, Washoe County, Carson City, Clark County, and Nye County.
All Prominence HMO plans are open access which allows individuals to see a specialist without a referral from a primary care provider. Additionally, all members have access to $0 telemedicine services from Teladoc for 24/7 medical and behavioral health care from licensed physicians, psychiatrists, clinical social workers and counselors via telephone or video.
