McCarthy Building Companies Inc., one of the nation’s oldest and largest privately held construction firms, has promoted Jason Howard to Vice President Preconstruction. Based in the Henderson office, Howard brings nearly two decades of professionalism and expertise to this new role.
“Jason’s “all-in” commitment and willingness to partner with internal clients on both pursuits and existing projects has helped differentiate us as a best-in-class contractor on some of the largest and most complex projects across the company,” said Jeff Wood executive vice president for McCarthy Building Companies. “His leadership and adaptability have been key to the success of our preconstruction processes and tools which is reflected within the diverse projects we have seen in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas. As we continue to grow the region and our capabilities, we look forward to leveraging Jason’s expertise in his expanded role.”
Howard first joined McCarthy in 2007 as an estimator in the Henderson office before assuming the roles of senior estimator, chief estimator, and preconstruction director for Nevada. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in leading and growing the preconstruction group to best align with the company’s clients and expanding markets.
Playing a key role in McCarthy’s ongoing success, Howard has contributed to more than $4 billion worth of projects in Nevada including numerous projects at McCarran International Airport, as well as recently collaborating on UNLV’s Hospitality Hall, the Palms Casino Resort Renovations, Circa Resort & Casino, Garage Mahal, Dream Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium – new home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders.
A graduate of Brigham Young University, Howard has a Bachelor of Science in construction management and is a LEED Accredited Professional with specialty in Building Design & Construction. He is an active member with a number of professional organizations including BYU Management Society, and the Nevada Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council.
“I’m looking forward to continuing my early involvement with project teams,” said Howard. “By collaborating side-by-side from the get-go, we can best ensure McCarthy’s ability to deliver the project within the established budget and schedule.”
