LAS VEGAS – The Nevada State Apartment Association will present the regional competition of Maintenance Mania® on Friday, Oct. 25, at The Orleans Hotel.
Maintenance Mania® is a national competition where local multifamily housing maintenance technicians compete against each other in skill-based games built around common maintenance activities. Winners from each local event get a chance to qualify for a spot at the national championship that will be held in Boston next June.
Eight events are standard to the competition, and each race is open to every participant. To qualify for the national championship, participants must compete in all eight games. Games include:
• AO Smith water heater installation
• Frigidaire icemaker installation
• Kidde fire and carbon monoxide safety installation
• Kwikset key control deadbolt test
• SmartBurner heating element installation
• Smart Comfort air conditioner repair
• Queenaire shock treatment setup
• Race car competition
“Maintenance technicians are the unsung heroes of our business,” said Susy Vasquez, Nevada State Apartment Association president. “They are the first responders, the ones residents know best. Many of them are very skilled, and the competition is our way to recognize their skills and support their importance in the industry.”
