Community leaders selected to serve on NCET board

February 14, 2019 By The Abbi Agency

Dave Archer president and CEO of NCET

Dave Archer has been re-elected as president and CEO of NCET, a member-supported non-profit that produces educational and networking events to help people explore businesses and technology.

Clay Hall has been newly elected as vice president of membership retention for NCET. Re-elected to the board were Jonathan Burke, Mikalee Byerman, Jon Edmondo and Andy Jorgensen.

Archer held executive positions in international product and market development at Viacom, Home Box Office, AOL Netscape and Headlight before joining NCET.

He earned a master’s degree in business and a bachelor’s degree in management from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, Calif., and earned associate’s degrees in electronics engineering and broadcast engineering from the College of San Mateo.

Archer also is co-founder of the Reno Angels, past chair of Entrepreneurship Nevada, and a member of the Nevada System of Higher Education’s EPSCoR Advisory Committee.

Hall is Director of Owner Success for AIA Corporation.

His career includes nearly 30 years of experience in the print and promotional products industry. Prior to joining AIA, he worked in sales and business development roles within Staples, including Staples Promotional Products, Staples Print Solutions, as well as Corporate Express.

During his career, Hall has managed national and regional sales teams, overseeing more than $45 million in sales and $12 million in gross profit.

Burke, a Junior Managing Partner at B3 Financial Partners, was elected as NCET’s Treasurer.

He joined his firm after earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a double major in mathematics and chemical engineering, and quickly became involved with many community focused organizations. A Nevada native, he said he is “motivated to benefit our community as a whole, and excited to contribute what I’ve learned in business and through local relationships to the great things NCET is doing for Reno and the Greater Northern Nevada area.”

Byerman, who serves as NCET’s vice president for communications, is Vice President of Strategy for the Estipona Group, a Reno-based creative agency. She is the author of “100 Things to Do in Reno Before You Die,” a humor essayist and public speaker, and she was recently voted “Best Creative Writer 2018″ in Northern Nevada. Byerman earned a bachelor’s degree in speech communication and a master’s degree in journalism from UNR.

Edmondo, re-elected as co-vice president of Tech Wednesdays, works as new business development manager for Gexpro Services.

He has more than 25 years of experience managing successful sales and marketing organizations for small and large corporations in the electronics, printing, graphics and financial services industries.

Edmondo earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the University of the Pacific and an MBA from Ohio University.

Jorgensen, re-elected as vice president of creative services for NCET, is a learning technologist and graphic designer.

He is currently the IT and quality control specialist at Rehearsal, a Reno-based maker of a video practice software platform that is growing fast in the training industry.

Jorgensen previously started the Nevada Ready 21 program at the Nevada Department of Education, has been a K-12 technology director and computer science teacher, works as a freelancer, and is the bassist in the local art-rock band, Schizopolitans.

Archer credited the board of directors as a primary reason for the success of NCET.

“When experienced business people, skilled communicators and top technology professionals bring enthusiasm to a volunteer position, the entire community benefits,” Archer said. “We are grateful for the service of our volunteer board members.”
