HomeAid Southern Nevada was founded in 2004 under the guidance of Bill June of Beazer Homes. Our mission is building new lives for Southern Nevada’s homeless through housing and community outreach. We carry out this mission through:
Care days (community outreach)
Fundraising
Shelter build projects
Education and awareness in the community
The HomeAid Southern Nevada chapter is sponsored by the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association.
Since we opened our doors, more than 100,000 square feet have been built and renovated, and over 2000 homeless children and adults have been served through the great work of countless builders, trades, sponsors and volunteers involved with HomeAid Southern Nevada.
When it comes to our shelter build projects, HomeAid Southern Nevada pride itself on taking each dollar for a project and stretching them so that we can get as many components of a project donated through labor, services, materials and time. This generosity in the home building industry allows our nonprofit partners who are serving the homeless, to continue to use those vital dollars towards programming and case management instead of paying the entire cost to build or renovate their shelter/ facility.
The cost of building or renovating is a huge financial burden for most agencies who are serving the homeless. That is why HomeAid Southern Nevada has committed to continuing to build dignified, safe, clean shelters and facilities for those who so desperately need it in our community.
