CAMCO of Nevada, one of the largest community management companies in the Silver State, has promoted Renee Smith to Director of Portfolio Development. Smith previously held the role of Senior Supervising Community Manager at CAMCO, where she oversaw accounts and supervised managers with provisional licenses. She has been with CAMCO since January.
In her new role, Smith will work to streamline efforts and improve processes for the transition of communities from CAMCO’s Developer Division to its Portfolio Division. The company’s Developer Division works with builders setting up HOAs in new developments and assisting builders and homeowners with the unique processes related to a new association. At CAMCO, these young communities eventually transition to its Portfolio Division, which is comprised of more established developments.
“Renee is an eager and professional leader,” said Mozell Williams, Vice President of Developer Association Services. “We are excited to have her on our team and to have her bring her talents and experience to our culture. We’re fortunate that she is ready and willing to lead so quickly after joining us.”
In 2012, Smith started in the industry as an administrative assistant for a Reno-based community management company. She eventually advanced to a director role. Previously, she worked as a 911 dispatcher. Her past experiences, both in community management and in law enforcement, have sharpened her communication and leadership skills, allowing her to work effectively in a variety of situations, whether it’s with managers, out in the community or internally with CAMCO staff.
“What I really like about CAMCO is the continuity you have every day,” Smith said. “You never feel like you’re needing to re-invent the wheel with processes and in different situations. The leadership has done a great job of making sure I can come in and manage efficiently, and I’m grateful for how accepting the people I work with have been of my role at the company.”
CAMCO, one of the largest and most respected community management companies in the state, manages more than 300 HOAs in Nevada. To learn more, visit camconevada.com or search for @CAMCONevada on Facebook.
