In the wake of last week’s opening of their new training academy, Goodwill of Southern Nevada (Goodwill®) is accepting inquiries from local employers to launch new train-to-hire program partnerships that train underserved populations at the speed required to meet local employers’ hiring needs.
Goodwill Train-to-Hire Programs currently include partnerships with Intermountain Healthcare for the “90-Day MA” medical assistant education program; Rhino Staging for the Stagehand Training Program; and NV HOPE for the CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) Training Program that leads graduates to multiple local healthcare employers.
“Over the last fifteen months, Goodwill train-to-hire programs have demonstrated the capacity to quickly meet critical hiring needs within the community,” said Goodwill President and CEO Rick Neal. “These programs both empower individuals to learn the skills necessary to launch thriving careers and support local employers’ demands for a ready and able workforce. We invite local employers to partner with us on customized training programs that support their growth, diversify their employee base, and help our Southern Nevada community thrive.”
A key driver of Goodwill’s successful train-to-hire programs are proprietary “Training SprintsSM”—accelerated professional skills training that moves participants into a high-demand careers as quickly as possible. For example, graduates of the 90-Day MA program move from a standing start into a paid 1,200-hour externship while earning their Medical Assistant certification. Goodwill and training partner NV Careers are currently hosting the third 90-Day MA cohort at the recently opened Goodwill Training Academy.
Goodwill counts on philanthropic support and grants to provide these life-changing opportunities to participants from under-resourced communities. Anyone who is interested in making a financial donation to enable Goodwill to serve more participants can text careers to 41444.
