RENO, Nev. – It’s where cowboy hats and cocktail dresses collide. Where country music cozies up to classical. Where French Horns Meet Longhorns. It can only be Rhythm & Rawhide, the wildly popular and uniquely Reno event that benefits the Reno Rodeo Foundation.
Presented by Dolan Auto Group, Rhythm & Rawhide returns Saturday, Sept. 10 to the Robert Z. Hawkins Amphitheater at Bartley Ranch for a night of western entertainment, delectable local bites and special performances featuring Jenny Tolman and Mitch Polzak with accompaniment by the Rhythm & Rawhide orchestra.
Renowned musical director and conductor, Jason Altieri, will lead the Rhythm & Rawhide orchestra, blending the honky-tonk stylings of Jenny Tolman and Mitch Polzak with the timeless sound of classical music.
Revitalizing the genre with her soulful storytelling and playful sense of humor, Jenny Tolman is a breath of fresh air in the country music scene. West Coast native and born showman Mitch Polzak delivers masterful performances that capture both the sincerity of old-school country and the joyous energy of rockabilly. Together the performers’ distinct qualities blend into a musical alchemy alongside the live orchestra.
“The Reno Rodeo Foundation recognizes that Rhythm & Rawhide is more than a concert — it’s an opportunity to celebrate our western roots, and most importantly, give back to our community,” said Clara Andriola, Reno Rodeo Foundation executive director. “We look forward to this event every year, and we are thrilled to provide an evening of world-class musicians performing songs both new and familiar to Reno once again.”
This year attendees have two ticket options. The $250 VIP ticket includes a sit-down dinner, hosted bar, fixed seating in the amphitheater, a concert snack and themed gift. The VIP dinner menu, curated by Roundabout’s Chef Colin Smith, features three passed appetizers, fresh salad and molasses bread, and a family-style plated dinner with dishes like succulent smoked pork loin and top sirloin steak.
The $45 General Admission ticket includes seating on the lawn; attendees can bring their own low-back lawn chair or blanket to spread out and enjoy the show.
Tickets can be purchased online at RenoRodeoFoundation.org. Proceeds from the event benefit all of the programs offered by the Foundation including the annual Denim Drive, Bears and Badges and Rodeo Wish.
