Reno, Nev. – The Board of Directors for the Downtown Reno Partnership heard from Executive Director Alex Stettinski and executive staff announcing the end of year results for the 2021-2022 Fiscal Year, during the annual Board retreat at the Village at Rancharrah. The Board of Directors also welcomed the new incoming Board Chair, Chris Shanks, Dickson Commercial realtor and owner of The Depot Craft Brewery-Distillery and Louis’ Basque Corner, replacing outgoing Board Chair, Par Tolles, CEO, Tolles Development Co.
“With a core purpose to make Downtown Reno a safer, cleaner, and friendlier district for residents and visitors, I am excited to highlight some of the Downtown Reno Partnership’s Key Performance Indicators from the past year,” said Stettinski. “I would also like to welcome new Board Chair Chris Shanks and thank Par Tolles for his commitment and leadership as the Board Chair over the past two years.”

Priority #1: Stabilize Downtown Streets
- 14,400 pounds of trashed removed by Ambassadors since April 2022
- 3,944 people referred to services
- 656 Van Rides for DMV, Social Security, shelter and medical appointments
- 56,473 business check-ins
- 1,946 wellness checks
- 414 shopping carts recovered
- 269 pieces of graffiti removed
- 5,222 directions given
- 342 syringes removed
- 455 bags of trashed removed from public parks
- 2,896 Hotline calls
- 98 people assisted to long term housing / treatment
- 1,252 Safe Walks
Priority #2: Economic & Community Development
- Utilized highly accurate foot traffic software to gain insight for trends and patterns
- Provided community and business requests for data
- Built partnerships for collaboration and beautification of Downtown
- Worked with property owners to encourage property rehabilitation and development
- Secured grant funding for downtown beautification and placemaking
- 169 welcome letters sent to new property owners
- Tracked $276,744,732 in property sales (up 117% from FY20/21)
Priority #3: Awareness and Promotion
- Downtown Reno Partnership was awarded the Silver Spike Award from the Public Relations Society of America, Sierra Nevada Chapter, for the Locomotion Plaza Beautification Project
- Created and placed a TV commercial highlighting Downtown Reno to attract visitors from outside the BID to visit Downtown Reno
- Media and marketing reached an audience of 1,541,689
Priority #4: Organizational Sustainability
- Placemaking projects:
- Started Truckee River Path 1-Mile Makeover project
- Locomotion Plaza lighting project
- International Downtown Association hosted their West Coast Urban District Forum in Downtown Reno
- $50k grant from the City of Reno for cleaning equipment including a pressure washer truck which is in use
