Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (Broadbent), a leading, full-service environmental, water resource, and civil engineering firm, is pleased to announce that Jason Dukek has been awarded Wastewater Operator of the Year by the Nevada Rural Water Association.
Dukek, who has over 17 years of industry experience, is the operator of record for more than 20 water and wastewater sites throughout Nevada. “We are excited to celebrate with Jason as he receives this recognition by the Nevada Rural Water Association,” said Kirk Stowers, principal geologist at Broadbent. “Jason joined Broadbent several years ago and has proven himself to be extremely knowledgeable and qualified. In addition to being the lead on several water and wastewater sites, he is the wastewater circuit rider for NDEP, a contract that Broadbent secured again this year due largely in part to the quality of Jason’s work. Dukek is a certified operator in both Nevada and Arizona., and as the senior water and wastewater operator at Broadbent, Dukek manages and/or operates over 25 systems and works closely with state regulatory agencies to ensure all Broadbent clients are in compliance with permit requirements. As the Nevada wastewater circuit rider for NDEP, Jason travels throughout Nevada inspecting wastewater systems for performance evaluation and providing input and recommendations where appropriate.
The Nevada Rural Water Association is a nonprofit membership-based organization that provides water and wastewater technical assistance. The annual Wastewater Operator of the Year Award is given to operators who have a minimum Grade 1 certification in wastewater operations and have shown exceptional knowledge, skill, and leadership abilities within their field.
