From May 2-27, Nevada State Bank is collecting feminine hygiene products and new or gently used purses for the nonprofit Purse Power LV. The organization provides much-needed products for underserved women in the Southern Nevada area, delivered discreetly inside a purse.
Items needed include tampons, pads, hand sanitizer, feminine wipes, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, lip balm, and of course, purses. In addition, monetary donations can be made at any Nevada State Bank branch.
“We are proud to support Purse Power LV’s mission. Feminine hygiene products are expensive, and these are truly necessities that make it possible for women to go to work, school, and maintain their health in many cases,” said Sandi Milton, SVP, marketing communications and events manager for Nevada State Bank. “During this month when we honor moms, it feels appropriate that we help women across our state feel more empowered and remove barriers to improving their lives.”
After the drive, all collected donations will be delivered to Purse Power to be packed and distributed to women and girls through partners such as Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and Safe House.
