Henderson, Nev. – MDX Labs is doubling the size of its Henderson laboratory facility and will add patient rooms and practitioners soon as part of a business expansion that includes a broader range of testing services.
MDX Labs is Nevada’s only privately owned molecular diagnostic laboratory that is CLIA-certified and a member of the National Independent Laboratory Association (NILA).
The expansion will take MDX Labs’ current square footage from 6,500 to 11,500 square feet, with an additional 2,000 square feet added later this summer. In addition to doubling the size of the laboratory, extra space will be utilized for offices, patients’ rooms, and health care practitioners.
“Our mission to help Nevadans protect their health and the health of their families during the pandemic provided valuable lessons,” said Dan Briggs, President, and CEO, MDX Labs. “We know most businesses and health care providers in Southern Nevada utilize laboratory services located out of state, which prolongs the amount of time to get results. MDX Labs will offer testing services that can provide results in as little as one hour, essential as we focus on population health.”
The additional square footage will allow MDX Labs to bring in additional lab equipment for the growth of test menus as well as space for additional clinical validations, research and development.
During past surges in the pandemic, MDX Labs’ community test sites at times handled as much as 20 percent of all COVID-19 testing services in the state. While COVID testing will remain available, MDX Labs will expand services for individuals and businesses to include toxicology and workplace testing, Tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infections (STI), and urinary tract infections (UTI) among others.
