Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas (CASLV) is pleased to announce that Nick Sarisahin, CASLV’s chief financial officer, has been honored with the 40 Under 40 Award by Vegas Inc. The award celebrates individuals under the age of 40 who are outstanding business and community leaders in southern Nevada.
“Nick has been a part of the Coral Academy family for over 11 years and has been a key part of our success in reaching the community,” said Ercan Aydogdu, executive director and CEO at CASLV. “Although his work is largely done behind the scenes, Nick’s role in creating access to top-tier education in Southern Nevada is apparent with our growing roster of campuses. On behalf of our students and staff, we are proud of Nick for being recognized as the excellent leader that he is.”
Sarisahin has served as the chief financial officer at CASLV since 2011 and plays a critical role in facilitating sustainable expansion, growth projects and developing well-functioning financial infrastructure. CASLV currently has six campuses open with the seventh campus, located in Cadence, Henderson, set to open in August. Due to Sarisahin’s resourcefulness and project dedication, the CASLV Cadence campus secured the lowest interest-rate bond financing in the history of charter schools in Nevada. Sarisahin is also actively involved in the community and is a founding board member at TEACH Las Vegas Charter School in Southern Nevada. TEACH aims to reach children living in underserved areas with the objective of closing the achievement gap among different areas and socioeconomic groups.
Vegas Inc. has been conducting the 40 Under 40 Awards since 2000 and this year marks its 22nd edition. Submissions were selected based on the nominee’s service to the community, entrepreneurial attitude, and overall impact in their industry. In order to qualify, a nominee must be under 40 and live and work in Clark County. Winners were recognized at the Sahara Hotel and Casino on March 31 and will be featured in a special upcoming issue of Vegas Inc.
