—Jeremy Renner-produced show centered around service vehicle restoration leases space from Oddie District and The Generator—
SPARKS, NV. — The Oddie District, a multipurpose Live-Work-Create hub in the heart of Sparks, Nevada, in collaboration with its anchor tenant The Generator, has leased 22,000 square feet of video production space for an upcoming Disney+ television show featuring Jeremy Renner.
The show involves customizing large, decommissioned service vehicles like buses and fire trucks for adaptive reuse by other organizations. Renner, notable actor and Nevada resident, is producing the show. His team, along with a collection of old trucks and buses, are on-site and production is underway.
“TV production coming to The Oddie District is a great celebration of the resurgence of our maker economy,” said Rob Cord, lead development partner at Oddie District developer Foothill Partners, Inc. “And we cannot wait to see the ripple effects this will bring to our local arts community.”
The Generator, an inclusive maker space in the Reno-Sparks art community, has leased 20,000 square feet of its space in the Oddie District to Disney+. Disney will also be using 2,000 square feet of office space in the maker space provided by Oddie District developers Foothill. Production of the show will take place at The Oddie District for six months. Renner and Disney+ may extend their presence depending on the show’s needs.
“We will undoubtedly see a very exciting blending of talent and resources from the production crews and from the incredible arts community right here in Sparks,” said Nettie Oliverio, Arts and Culture Director and partner at Foothill Partners, Inc.
