RENO, Nev. – With the help of a generous sponsorship from Eye Care Professionals, the Barracuda Championship awarded $5,500 to Vitality Veterans Housing at a check presentation at the Eye Care Professionals offices on Monday, Dec. 20.
“We all know that there are veterans in the community that struggle and need support and through this sponsorship I was allowed to select a veteran’s charity,” said Dr. Matthew Mills, owner of Eye Care Professionals. “I looked into Vitality Unlimited, and the work they do in Reno and Elko and other areas, I thought this was a great opportunity to provide support for them and the work that they do.”
Eye Care Professionals was the presenting sponsor of the Birdies for the Brave initiative at the 2021 Barracuda Championship. For each birdie made on the Birdies for the Brave Hole at the 2021 tournament, the Barracuda Championship and Eye Care Professionals donated $50. There were a total of 101 birdies made on the 9th hole throughout the tournament.
“This is the perfect example of partnerships we’re trying to create here in the community,” said Chris Hoff, tournament director for the Barracuda Championship. “Dr. Mills has been a great supporter of ours through the years coming up with unique ways of not only giving back but partnering with the tournament – these are what we’re aiming for each and every year. We can’t thank Dr. Mills enough for everything he has done for us and the community and hopefully, going forward, we can really build on this.”
