Women in Business Summit to elevate, empower, and evolve women in business while recognizing Domestic Violence Awareness Month
LAS VEGAS – During Women’s Small Business Month, Nevada Business Advisors will revive the Women in Business Summit after a five-year absence. Focused on elevating, empowering, and evolving women in business, the in-person event will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom at Palace Station, located at 2411 West Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas, Nev.
The Summit will be co-hosted by Nevada Business Advisors Founder and CEO Monica Coburn and Executive Speakers Bureau Sales Executive and Entertainer Jennifer Lier and will include speakers, breakout sessions, as well as a cocktail reception. The morning keynote will be Sasha Larkin, Deputy Chief of Homeland Security for LV Metro PD, who will discuss how women can rise as leaders and thrive in today’s world. A mid-day fireside chat will take place with Yolanda Nicole “Nikki” Fargas, President of the Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA.
In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Women in Business Summit will highlight Signs of Hope, formerly known as Rape Crisis Center, and Safe House for the work they do in the community. Additionally, in recognition of Women’s Small Business Month, the Summit will highlight the Nevada Women’s Business Center.
One of the fastest-growing segments in entrepreneurship is women in business. In the United States, there are 12.3 million women-owned businesses that generate roughly $1.8 trillion a year. Nevada Business Advisors and the Executive Speakers Bureau are working in partnership this year to provide a platform for a diverse audience of women entrepreneurs, professionals, and industry veterans to network and join in discussions relative to their growth.
“The events of 2020 turned workplaces upside down. Under the highly challenging circumstances that occurred last year, many employees are struggling to do their jobs. Many of these employees are women who are worried about their family’s health and finances,” stated Monica Coburn, Managing Director of Nevada Business Advisors.
This year, the Women and Business Summit will open its doors to both women and men and highlight several non-profit organizations including Living Grace Homes and Project Marilyn up for consideration to receive a portion of the event’s proceeds. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the non-profit of their choice in hopes their organization is selected.
The event is in collaboration with the Executive Speakers Bureau and sponsored by Insperity, My Vegas Magazine, Vegas Ink and Toner, Skin Fitness with Jaime Lee Metz, Four Seasons Dental Spa, Rumpleskilton Events, and Moon Lit Beauty. It will be held in person and sponsorships are available. For more information and to purchase tickets before registration closes on Wednesday, September 29th, visit womeninbusinesssummitlv.com.
