Workforce Connections, Southern Nevada’s Local Workforce Development Board, announces the appointment of two new board members.
SilverSummit Healthplan President & CEO Eric Schmacker and Motional Human Resources Business Partner – Global Operations Dasya Duckworth were unanimously appointed to the Workforce Connections Board by the Local Elected Officials (LEO) Consortium.
Schmacker and Duckworth will each serve three-year terms.
Eric Schmacker
Eric Schmacker is the President & CEO of SilverSummit Healthplan, a subsidiary of Centene Corporation. Schmacker has over 25 years of leadership experience in healthcare and hospital administration.
A 21-year U.S. Army veteran and Blackhawk pilot, Schmacker transitioned into the Army Medical Department where he held numerous positions, including Vice President Healthcare Operations, Brooke Army Medical Center; Chief of Strategy, Army Medical Department Center and School; and Chief Operating Officer, Weed Army Community Hospital.
Schmacker earned his Ph.D. in Health Service Research, Management, and Policy from the University of Florida, a Master in Healthcare Administration from Baylor University, and a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York.
Dasya Duckworth
Dasya Duckworth is the Human Resources Business Partner – Global Operations at Motional, a joint venture between Hyundai Motor Group and Aptiv. Duckworth has more than two decades of experience in human resources, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits administration, and policy/procedure implementation.
This is Duckworth’s second appointment to the Workforce Connections Board. She previously served as a representative of the manufacturing industry sector while working for Kens Foods. In her new appointment, she will represent the transportation industry sector.
Proficient in Spanish, Duckworth has B.A. in Psychology from Lewis and Clark College. She is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM).
