Henderson Supplements Water Smart Incentives
The City of Henderson recently announced a supplement to Southern Nevada Water Authority’s (SNWA) Water Smart Landscape cash incentive. The supplement, valid for properties with large amounts of grass among public rights of way, will add $1.50 to SNWA’s already $1.50 per square foot rebate for conversions up to 40,000 square feet.
Primrose Schools Announces Growth Plans in Nevada
An early education and childcare center currently operating in 32 states, Primrose Schools has announced an expansion into the Las Vegas market. The company’s development team has begun an effort to identify locations for franchise owners with each 12,000 square foot location expected to serve between 185 to 210 families.
Dickson Commercial Group Joins CORFAC International
Dickson Commercial Group (DCG) has joined CORFAC International. CORFAC is a network of privately held commercial real estate firms with 70 offices around the world. DCG is the third firm to join the organization this year and gives the firm access to clients all over the United States.
Grass Opportunity Zone Acquires Lyon County Airport
Growth Resources Assets Safety and Stability (GRASS), an opportunity zone fund focused on applying technology to compliance processes, has acquired Tiger Field airport in Lyon County. Located three miles from Fernley, the airfield will be developed into one of the first drone centers in the region. GRASS expects to improve the existing airport and create state-of-the-art aircraft hangers.
Rural Nevada Receives Nearly $4 Million for Projects
Nearly $4 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds have been awarded to 14 projects in Carson City and other rural areas. The funds are expected to benefit 86,393 Nevadans and will fund projects ranging from $10,000 to $885,463. In addition, the benefitting counties and cities invested an additional $1.9 million in matching funds.
Renown Health Begins Apprenticeship Program for Medical Assistants
Welcoming its first student last month, the Renown Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program is sponsored by the Nevada System of Higher Education. The one-year competency-based program is located out of Truckee Meadows Community College. The first student, a local Washoe County graduate, will begin the program as a full-time employee with benefits at Renown. The program includes up to 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and 193 hours of related technical instruction.
Las Vegas Prices Top All-Time Record
The price of existing single-family homes sold in southern Nevada during June was $395,000, $10,000 higher than the previous record which was set in May. The median home prices is up nearly 22 percent from one year ago. In addition, the median price of condos and townhomes is $216,000, which us up 15.4 percent from the same time period in 2020.
