Africans in Las Vegas and the diaspora celebrate their culture and heritage with two days of cultural exchange and festivities. In celebration of the excellence and resilience of Africans in Las Vegas and across the globe, the annual AfrikFest Las Vegas (“AfrikFest”) is set for September 24 – 25, 2021.
This is a two-day flagship event of the African Chamber of Commerce and Tourism includes an informative trade and business summit on doing business with Africa, the largest cultural marketplace dubbed “The Village Marketplace” and the Merit Awards Night of African Excellence Gala. With this year’s themed “United Across all Cultures,” the Gala will take place at the Conference Center of Las Vegas, 6590 Bermuda Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89119.
“This year, AfrikFest Las Vegas in partnership with the African Chamber of Commerce & Tourism will honor the African, African American community in Las Vegas, Africa and all over
the world. One of the major goals of AfrikFest 2021 is to raise money for scholarships and to fund programs and operations at the chamber. We invite you to join us as we honor, celebrate and
elevate each other,” said Favor Chikelu, President of the African Chamber of Commerce.
AfrikFest is a community-based, socio-cultural organization working towards bringing together the African communities in the U.S., Africa and around the world. The name “AfrikFest,”
meaning African Festival, was coined by members of the African community in Las Vegas to capture the essence of the African cultural experience. AfrikFest is committed to recreating and
reinforcing the cultural values among the peoples of Africa, and to establishing those values in the minds of our new generations residing outside Africa.
“Due to last year’s cancellation, we anticipate a surge in this year’s attendance. After the year we’ve had, AfrikFest 2021 is an opportunity to celebrate life, family and loved ones, and to honor business owners and appreciate members of our community,” said Chris Usibge, Executive Director of Afrikfest Las Vegas.
AfrikFest 2021 marks the third edition of this event since its conception in 2018. Information on where and how to purchase a ticket will be made available in the next couple of weeks. To sponsor this event or reserve a vending booth, please visit us at www.afrikfestlasvegas.org.
