ioneer Ltd (ioneer or the Company) (ASX: INR), an emerging lithium-boron supplier, is pleased to announce it has made three key appointments to its US operations team as it advances the development of the Rhyolite Ridge Lithium-Boron Project (Rhyolite Ridge) in Nevada.
Rob Stepper has been appointed ioneer’s Director of Process Engineering. Rob joins ioneer from Coeur Mining, Inc, where he was General Manager of the open pit Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada for the last decade. During his tenure, he oversaw the significant expansion of Rochester’s production and mine life. Rob is a metallurgical engineer and served as an executive committee member of the Nevada Mining Association (NVMA) for seven years, including a term as NVMA Chair in 2019/20.
Sasha Meyer has been appointed ioneer’s Director of Mining. Sasha was the Technical Services Manager and Chief Mine Engineer at US gold-silver producer McEwen Mining Inc, and was recently Project Manager at the Ruby Hill open-pit, heap leach gold mine in Nevada. A mining engineer, Sasha has held senior engineering, safety, environment and technical services roles and has made significant improvements to mining engineering systems and business processes.
Kori Breschini joins ioneer as Director of Supply Chain Management. Kori was previously the supply chain manager at Nevada-based gold and silver producer, Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation and, prior to that, held senior procurement roles at Barrick Corporation and Sibanye Stillwater. Kori will lead ioneer’s supply chain strategy and execution, which includes managing suppliers, procurement and inventory management on site at Rhyolite Ridge.
ioneer Managing Director Bernard Rowe said:
“We are extremely pleased to announce these key appointments, and welcome Rob, Sasha and Kori to our management team. They bring deep mining, production engineering and supply chain expertise to our team and have all worked on various projects in Nevada where Rhyolite Ridge is located. We have continued to build our US-based team as we ready ourselves for the commencement of construction of Rhyolite Ridge.”
Rhyolite Ridge is expected to produce an average of approximately 20,600 tonnes per annum (tpa) of lithium carbonate, or approximately 22,000 tpa of lithium hydroxide, along with approximately 174,400 tpa of boric acid over the 26-year mine life.
ioneer Ltd is the 100% owner of the Rhyolite Ridge Lithium-Boron Project located in Nevada, USA, the only known lithium-boron deposit in North America and one of only two known such deposits in the world. The Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) completed in 2020 confirmed Rhyolite Ridge as a world-class lithium and boron project that is expected to become a globally significant, long-life, low-cost source of lithium and boron vital to a sustainable future.
