The American Lung Association in Nevada announces its first-ever virtual wine-tasting event “Corks and Comedy” on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at 6:30 p.m. to help raise funds to fight COVID-19 and other respiratory diseases.
Sommeliers at the popular downtown Las Vegas Garagiste Wine Room and Merchant have personally selected wines for guests to enjoy, and will virtually walk guests through the notes and profiles of each selection.
Then, producer and comedian Tony Vivich will entertain guests with a special comedy show created just for supporters of the American Lung Association. Throughout the virtual event, guests will meet those affected by lung disease and learn why the nonprofit’s mission is so critical.
The VIP Package is priced at $250 and includes two bottles of wine for tasting, as well as a charcuterie board for two people. The Group Tasting Package is priced at $500, which includes four bottles of wine and a charcuterie board for four to six people.
Wine and charcuterie packages will be ready for pick-up at Garagiste, located at 197 E. California Ave. Suite 140, on June 21, 22, and 23 between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m.
Reserve your tickets and packages now at https://bidpal.net/corksandcomedy. Donations are also welcome.
“We are thrilled to host this special night where supporters can enjoy some incredible wine and have a few laughs in the comfort of their own homes,” said Shannon Proctor, executive director of the American Lung Association in Nevada. “We are excited that the sommeliers at Garagiste and Tony Vivich have partnered with us to make this virtual event a reality.”
Money raised through the “Corks and Comedy” virtual event will help fund the American Lung Association’s research and advocacy efforts, as well as support the organization’s COVID-19 Action Initiative. The initiative is a $25 million investment to educate the public and provide masks to those in need, advocate for COVID and flu vaccines to underserved communities, and defend the public against future respiratory virus pandemics. The initiative works with public and private entities to increase research collaboration and develop new vaccines, detection tests, and treatment therapies.
“Corks and Comedy” is sponsored by Desert Radiology, Touro University and The Valley Health System.
