LAS VEGAS – The PENTA Building Group’s charitable arm, The PENTA CARES Foundation (PENTA CARES), raised $150,000 for three Southern Nevada nonprofits during its recent 16th Annual Charity Golf Classic. The event welcomed more than 300 golfers and support and sponsorship from companies, vendors and properties.
As a result of the event, PENTA CARES donated $50,000 to each of the three nonprofits: the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation (NVCCF), the Women’s Development Center (WDC) and Nevada Military Support Alliance. The annual funds raised by PENTA CARES helps to support critical services for each of these nonprofit organizations.
“Every year, we are humbled by the support of our clients, trade partners and vendors at our Annual Charity Golf Classic,” said John Cannito, President of The PENTA Building Group. “The COVID-19 pandemic created tough situations for a lot of Southern Nevadans. Even in 2020, when we were not able to hold this annual event in person, PENTA and many of our subcontractor sponsors still donated $90,000 – which was enough to give each nonprofit $30,000 at a time when it was needed the most. We’re proud to support organizations right here in our community who are making a difference.”
Founded in 1993, NVCCF provides support services and programs to families of children diagnosed with life threatening or critical illnesses such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, sickle cell, renal, blood and immunologic diseases. With this donation, PENTA CARES continues its 15-year support of NVCCF’s Project A.R.K. (Aids & Resources for kids), providing critically ill children and their families with basic living needs, social services and individual and group counseling at no cost.
WDC works to provide affordable housing, economic and educational opportunities and support services to families and individuals. PENTA CARES’ donation will support WDC’s Transitional Housing Program, which provides individuals and families resources to work towards self-sufficiency, including housing, transportation, employment readiness and more.
Since 2003, the Nevada Military Support Alliance works to organize and promote the recognition, support and appreciation for men and women in the armed forces. The donation from PENTA CARES will continue supporting families of fallen service members and those who have returned home from the battlefield with injuries.
PENTA CARES’ Annual Charity Golf Classic has raised more than $1.1 million for Southern Nevada nonprofits since 2005. Over the course of two decades, PENTA CARES has donated more than $9 million to 450 charities companywide, and each year PENTA employees and their families volunteer thousands of hours to nonprofit organizations in Las Vegas, Southern California and Phoenix.
