LAS VEGAS – Desert Radiology announced its continued commitment to safeguarding the wellbeing of its patients, team members and community by encouraging everyone, including Desert Radiology team members, to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Desert Radiology understands how vital the health of its team members is to its patients and their care. According to the CDC, as of Dec. 3, there were more than 249,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases among medical workers in the nation, and just over 790 deaths among health care personnel as of November 9, 2020.
Medical workers across the nation and globe are more susceptible to contracting COVID-19 than the general public and so it becomes critical to the vitality of our medical system that these workers safeguard themselves.
As healthcare leaders and as a pillar in the Southern Nevada community, Desert Radiology hopes to set an example and motivate not just its teammates but all members of the community to receive the vaccination to safeguard their health and the health of those around them.
By encouraging vaccinations among its team members, Desert Radiology aims to further strengthen its COVID-19 protocols designed to lessen the chances of transmission. As a leading outpatient imaging practice with 11 facilities across Southern Nevada, the practice is committed to following the CDC’s guidelines and monitoring industry standards to ensure that it is always on top of and implementing the best COVID-19 practices possible.
The following protocols and policies are currently in place at all Desert Radiology facilities:
COVID-19 screenings of all patients and team members including temperature checks
Masks are required for anyone within the facility
Social distancing will be enforced within all areas of the facility
Virtual waiting rooms – patients may be asked to wait inside their vehicle following appointment check-ins
Enhanced routine cleaning of all waiting room furniture and exam room equipment
As scientists and researchers strengthen and evolve the COVID-19 response, Desert Radiology will stay committed to those advancements to help protect the community in which it lives and serves while acknowledging individual stances and beliefs.
