New five-story tower will increase hospital capacity and provide expanded care offerings to the community.
SR Construction (SR) is pleased to announce the completion of the Centennial Hills Hospital five-story patient tower expansion. In addition to adding 72 patient beds, the new tower also includes two floors of shell space for an additional Intensive Care Unit, and Intermediate and Medical Surgical Units. SR Construction broke ground on the tower in October 2019 and completed all construction phases for the project in November 2020, delivering the finished product to the client four months ahead of schedule.
“We are proud to have successfully finished the Centennial Hills Hospital five-story patient tower,” said Bret Loughridge, president at SR Construction. “While COVID-19 presented many challenges throughout the construction process, the SR staff and trusted trade partners remained focused on completing this project and producing a state-of-the-art facility. Everyone worked diligently with hospital staff to expedite the construction process to accelerate the tower opening from late first quarter 2021 to mid-November 2020 – an extraordinary accomplishment. We are honored to provide expanded space to address the needs for increased care in our community.”
In November 2020, Centennial Hills Hospital announced the opening of The Birthplace within the new tower, adding two labor and delivery suites along with 36 mother-baby suites. Following that opening, the hospital opened its new 36-bed nursing unit in the tower in December, offering much-needed capacity to serve the growing number of patients.
“We are sincerely grateful to SR construction for their efforts to help expedite the construction of our new tower building,” said Sajit Pullarkat, CEO of Centennial Hills Hospital. “Their ability to not only finish the project but have it completed ahead of schedule is truly remarkable. Being able to open this additional bed capacity during our current times of higher overall healthcare demands has been a significant benefit to our local community, our staff, and medical staff.”
