Event will be held at Elite Training Academy in Las Vegas
Time to step up to the plate for a good cause. Special Olympics Nevada (SONV) along with HMS (Health Management Systems) will host a Homerun Derby fundraiser from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12 at Elite Training Academy. LV Realtors is also a corporate sponsor of this event. The deadline to register is 12/11/2020.
All batters will receive ten pitches with the opportunity to hit as many home runs (via a pitching machine). Individual batters or teams will be able to select a window of time to complete their batting session when they register for the event.
The objective for each batter is to make the furthest home run hit. The top three scores of individuals or teams will be submitted for the competition. Individuals or teams with the highest distance scores will go into a “Sudden Death” round where they will be eliminated if they hit a foul ball or strike. The sole team and individual competitor remaining will be named the winners. Prizes will be given to the teams and individuals that rank in the top three positions.
All individual batters and teams will receive:
• Participation Certificate
• Thank you letter and photo from a Southern NV athlete
• Batting competition & Concession Services – 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Virtual Awards Ceremony – Livestreamed on Facebook the day after the event
The mission of the Homerun Derby is to support SONV through fundraising and public awareness, while enhancing the quality of life of our athletes.
