LAS VEGAS–The Nevada Donor Network Foundation (NDNF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mitch Britten as a founding board member. Britten is the CEO and founder of THRIVE Cannabis. As a member of the NDNF board, Britten will help advance NDNF’s vision to drive growth in the healthcare sector in Nevada by establishing a transplant institute as well as support the mission of Nevada Donor Network to maximize the gift of life and health through organ, eye and tissue donation.
Britten and his family relocated to Las Vegas in 2015 from Colorado, where he was a leader in developing the state’s medical marijuana industry. There, he served as director of operations for the nation’s largest producer, retailer, and employer in both the medical and recreational marijuana industry in Colorado. Under Britten’s leadership THRIVE Cannabis Marketplace opened its first Nevada dispensary for medical patients in 2016 in North Las Vegas, and a second location later that year in Downtown Las Vegas. Its third location, just west of the Las Vegas Strip, opened in September 2019. THRIVE opened its first Northern Nevada location in Reno in November and recently announced a new location in the Southern Highlands neighborhood of Las Vegas, which opened in April 2020.
In addition to THRIVE, Britten is the CEO and founder of Green and Gold Supply Co., a brand-new cannabis cultivation facility in North Las Vegas. The company incorporates the most advanced indoor growing equipment available and will bring 12 to15 unique strains to the Nevada market. Using hydroponic growing methods with state-of-the-art mechanical and electrical systems, Green & Gold Supply Co. will deliver the highest quality product to medical patients. Its proprietary branded cannabis products will be sold in dispensaries throughout Nevada. Green & Gold Supply Co. measures in at more than 15,000 square feet and was designed to be more efficient than other growing facilities by its ability to produce 21 percent more cannabis than a typical facility of its size.
About Nevada Donor Network
Nevada Donor Network is a federally designated 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organ procurement organization (OPO) committed to maximizing the gift of life and health through organ and tissue donation. Established in
1987, Nevada Donor Network is one of only 58 OPOs in the U.S. serving more than 3 million people in the state of Nevada and 113,000 potential transplant recipients across the country. We work collaboratively with
hospital staff and community partners to promote research and provide a strong support network to courageous donor families who’ve turned loss into hope. At Nevada Donor Network, we encourage Nevadans to help individuals in need of life-saving transplants through education, research and action. Nevada Donor Network is a member of Donate Life Nevada, an affiliate of Donate Life America, whose state-wide efforts encourage Nevadans to register as organ, eye and tissue donors.
