LAS VEGAS, NV – The Las Vegas Business Academy (LVBA) is announcing two new board members joining their team: Clifford Atkinson, former President and COO of Luxor Hotel & Casino, and Tyra Bell-Holland, President and Founder of Ava Rose Agency.
The LVBA is a non-profit organization that provides scholarship, mentorship, and externship opportunities to qualifying students pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV).
Clifford (Cliff) Atkinson is an accomplished hotelier with nearly 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Originally from San Francisco, California, Cliff has opened and operated hotels for Hilton, Mandarin Oriental Group, Ian Schrager, and MGM Resorts International.
More recently, Cliff was the president and chief operating officer of Luxor Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Luxor is one of the largest hotels in the world and Cliff was charged with leading more than 3,300 employees and executing a multimillion-dollar profit improvement plan. Cliff earned his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco and his MBA from RMIT in Melbourne, Australia.
Tyra Bell-Holland is the President and Founder of Ava Rose Agency, a public relations agency that specializes in clients within the luxury food and beverage, medical, retail, tourism, and high-end concept sectors. Tyra’s hospitality career spans over 20 years having begun her career as a Concierge at Bellagio in ‘98. Her experience as a pro tem member of Les Clefs d’Or and her role as President of the Southern Nevada Hotel Concierge Association led her to become the first Executive Director on the Strip for Venetian | Palazzo, followed by the Cosmopolitan before starting her own PR, Social Media & Branding company, Ava Rose Agency.
Simultaneously, Bell-Holland also launched RESORTCIERGE MD- a medical group serving luxury resorts with 24-hour house call visits and tele-medicine. A wife and mother of three, including twins, Tyra’s family keeps her the most fulfilled while also serving as a Board Member for the American Cancer Society, UNLV Alumni College of Hospitality and founding Board member of the Last Friday Foundation.
Clifford and Tyra are excited to work with LVBA and aim to assist them in the pursuit of their goal using their extensive knowledge and expertise.
The Las Vegas Business Academy (LVBA) is a non-profit organization formed and dedicated to the enrichment, development, involvement and financial support of college graduates pursuing a master’s degree education. The LVBA aims to do this by providing scholarship, mentorship, and externship opportunities to qualifying students pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The LVBA is comprised of board members representing a variety of industries across the city. With such a group of executive leaders, students that are selected to participate in the program are exposed to a rich variety of businesses and experiences.
