Local Companies Partner to Provide Pro-Bono Services for New Tahoe Truckee Waldorf Campus

Truckee Waldorf School-7d2df5e1

Reno, Nev. – Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (Broadbent), a full service environmental, water resource and civil engineering firm, is providing certified water operator services for the first building on the new, 40-acre Tahoe Truckee Waldorf community campus, Haskatasun, which will open in early 2021. Broadbent has pledged to provide volunteer services for the campus through March 2021. The operator services provided assure that the drinking water, sourced from the campus’ own public water system, available to students, staff, and visitors is safe.

“One of our core values at Broadbent is to provide support to our local communities through volunteerism and monetary donations,” said Matt Herrick, principal hydrogeologist and division manager of Broadbent & Associates’ Reno location. “When the opportunity to assist Tahoe Truckee Waldorf with the creation of their new campus arose, we knew that it was a cause worth supporting. It is an honor to be a partner on this project and have our staff work alongside the other volunteers to help bring the vision of the first building of the campus to fruition.”

In addition to Broadbent & Associates, Inc., The Genesis Group has donated time and personnel to the development of the first building. To assist Tahoe Truckee Waldorf in their endeavor, The Genesis Group has provided masterplan, architectural, utility, and civil engineering services as well as permitting assistance. Additionally, Western Environmental Testing Laboratory contributed time to complete the drinking water analytical testing for the project. Staff collected water samples and conducted baseline analysis of the water, which ensures that there are no contaminants present.

“We are grateful for the support and contributions of Broadbent, The Genesis Group and Western Environmental Testing Laboratory,” said Erin Fountain, executive director of Tahoe Truckee Waldorf. “The new campus would not be possible without their donated services and time.”

Volunteerism is a crucial part to the success of Tahoe Truckee Waldorf’s campus, Haskatasun, with every aspect of the design, development and construction of this project being sourced and donated by local companies. Once completed, this building will be the foundation of the new campus, which will offer Waldorf education and programming to the surrounding communities in the Tahoe Truckee area.
