LAS VEGAS – Daniel Mathis, CEO of PureCare Living, announced Branden Murphy, MSNed, RN, CPN, CCRN, as Director of Nursing for one of the valley’s newest pediatric skilled nursing facility, Silver State Pediatric.
Currently under construction near the Las Vegas Medical District, Silver State Pediatric is a 22,442-square-foot skilled nursing facility that will specialize in pulmonary and post-acute care facility for children with traumatic injuries as well as cognitive and physical disabilities.
Murphy, who has more than 10 years of experience in the pediatric nursing, most recently served as a nursing professor at Arizona College in Las Vegas. He also worked in several departments within University Medical Center where he last served as Charge Nurse for the General Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit departments.
“My entire career I have been immediately drawn to children with chronic, medically complex needs so it is my hope to develop a facility deserving of them,” said Murphy. “It is also my hope to gain the trust of our acute care partners so that when they have a child with extreme medical needs, they know they have a loving and safe place to send them.”
As an active volunteer and advocate for the pediatric skilled nursing field, Murphy currently fosters several children who have unique needs and who rely on skilled nursing services. In a mission to improve the quality of life for the many pediatric patients within skilled nursing facilities, Murphy and his wife decided to marry within one so patients would have the opportunity to participate in the excitement.
In addition to his vast industry experience and involvement, Murphy also serves on several nursing committees including a current role within the Executive Committee of the Nevada Board of Nursing, an organization that he has been participating in since 2011.
Murphy received his master’s degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2018 following a notable 4.0 GPA while obtaining his Bachelor of Nursing degree in 2016.
Silver State Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility, which is managed by PureCare Living, is located at 2496 West Charleston Boulevard and is funded through Insight Investment Partners, a commercial real estate investment and management firm.
