With 4618 entries submitted from more than 57 countries, SCAinteractive has won Gold in the Experiential and Immersive category in the 2020 MUSE Creative Awards competition. The winning work was designed, developed and administered by the team at SCAinteractive in partnership with Rogers Sportsnet for sponsor RAM Trucks.
“It is an honor to have all our hard work on this program acknowledged. Not just this year, but the culmination of 20 years of partnership with Rogers Sportsnet that has led up to 2020,” said Rob Moser, VP Operations at SCAinteractive. “It’s a testament to the flexibility of our team who continually seek new and meaningful ways to integrate sponsor brand and messaging, in this case, Ram, into our annual sports program suite. We look forward to pushing the envelope even further in 2021.”
When asked about this year’s winners, Kenjo Ong, CEO of the competitions said, “It is our privilege, as always, to honor these remarkable individuals. They have more than earned their achievements.”
The Fantasy Hockey Pool Program
The Sportsnet Fantasy Hockey Pool Presented by RAM is just one of a series of sports-themed programs that SCAinteractive operates for Rogers Sportsnet every year. From Baseball to Basketball, Bracket programs to Fantasy sports, Sportsnet and their sponsors are able to engage at a deep and meaningful level with hundreds of thousands of Canadians. The anchor program of the suite is the Fantasy Hockey Regular Season and Playoffs pools. This program is custom designed and developed specifically for Sportsnet and tailored each year to meet Sponsor brand and messaging requirements. Each week of the regular season, and each round of the playoffs, contestants return to the site to make their picks for the upcoming week. Each weekly submission challenges fans to pick a roster of players from across the league, while remaining under a set “salary cap”. A sponsor-themed multiplier (RAM) is also applied to three players selected by the contestant, and those players earn double points.
A leaderboard and real-time stats allow contestants to track their performance, while groups and badges drive deeper social engagement. Content generate by the pool – winners, etc. – are integrated into live broadcast spots during hockey telecasts, providing greater exposure and increasing participation. Additional features were custom designed to amplify the RAM branding and messaging, and increase participation and engagement levels.
“Our strong partnership with Rogers Sportsnet allows us to increase sponsor value by blurring the lines between various media channels and leveraging new technology to engage a broad cross-section of sports fans.” Says Adam Ford, Director of Business Development at SCAinteractive.
