Celebrity panel to discuss community safety and inclusivity at inaugural fundraising event
LAS VEGAS – The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation invites community members and supporters to join them for the first-ever Unite for Heroism fundraising dinner – an evening that celebrates the heroism of LVMPD officers and will include a celebrity conversation among Black community leaders about the importance of unity. This pioneering symposium will incorporate such timely topics as community safety and inclusivity. The all Black panel will include President of NAACP Las Vegas Roxann McCoy, Regina Coward-Holman, Retired LVMPD Officer, President of the Nevada Black Police Association and the Region 1 President of the National Black Police Association along with American singer, songwriter, and actress Maxine Jones, formerly of En Vogue.
LVMPD Captain Sasha Larkin will narrate a short film featuring Emmy Nominated footage of life saving moments captured through emotional interviews and action-packed body cam footage displaying the acts of heroism performed by LVMPD officers.
For those who cannot attend in person, the program will be live streamed from Wynn Las Vegas on October 22, 2020 at 6 p.m.
“Day and night, our LVMPD officers exemplify sacrifice, duty, and service,” said Tom Kovach, executive director of the LVMPD Foundation. “We ask you to join us for a special evening as we highlight their incredible courageousness and celebrate the importance of unity between LVMPD and the community.”
Tables and tickets for the in-person dinner can be purchased beginning at $250 or participants can join the livestream for free.
