Free Dump Days were postponed in the spring Due to COVID-19 precautions. The goal was to realign with rescheduled Earth Day events in September. Unfortunately, public events haven’t returned the way we had hoped, but chances are you did do some work around the house this summer and have a few things to toss out.
Residential Dump Days at Lockwood Regional Landfill will take place Thursday through Saturday:
September 17, 18 and 19
September 24, 25 and 26
October 1, 2 and 3.
Materials commonly associated with illegal dumping will be accepted at no charge. That includes eligible household appliances (coolant-free refrigerators, hot water heaters, stoves, dishwashers and washers/dryers) and eligible bulky waste (sofas, chairs, mattresses and box springs).

It is open to residential users Reno, Sparks, Unincorporated Washoe County and Storey County even if they do not have an account with Waste Management. This event is for residential users only – commercial customers will be charged normal rates. Tires are limited to (4) four per household.
