The Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada (PFFN) are pleased to announce the addition of new member, IAFF Local F-268, representing Naval Air Station Fallon, NV. IAFF Local F-268 is comprised of 33 members, with a mission to support the Department of the Navy, Active-Duty service members and their dependents, federal civilian employees and contractors, and the local community of Churchill County.
“We are proud to share that IAFF Local F-268 is now a member of the PFFN,” said Todd Ingalsbee, president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada. “The mission of the PFFN is to care for those who are here today, those have gone before us and those who will surely follow. With the addition of IAFF Local F-268, the PFFN represents 21 Locals statewide, providing support to members on a variety of issues including wages, benefits, working conditions and safety.”
IAFF Local F-268 was chartered with the International Association of Fire Fighters in 1992. With the organization located on Naval Air Station Fallon, the service focus for Local F-268 is all-hazards emergency response with their main mission directed towards Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF). Additionally, the organization’s membership is trained in structural and wild land fire suppression, hazardous materials response, technical rescue, and Advanced Life Support EMS.
“IAFF Local F-268 is proud to join the Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada,” said Michael Cornista, president of IAFF Local F-268. “It is important for our local to align with the statewide professional association and work alongside their executive leadership and members on a variety of matters, that affect the safety, health, and well-being of fire service professionals at the local, state, and federal level.”
