The James M. Cox Foundation, the charitable arm of Cox Enterprises and parent company of Cox Communications and Cox Automotive, has donated $25,000 to Three Square Food Bank. Given the nonprofit’s current donation matching campaign, this gift represents approximately 150,000 meals for Southern Nevadans.
A brief presentation was made at Three Square, 4190 N. Pecos Road, on Thursday, April 30 with Cox Vice President and Market Leader Michael F. Bolognini, Cox Automotive Manheim Nevada General Manager Danny Brawn and Three Square President and CEO Brian Burton.
“Cox Communications and Cox Automotive are proud to make this donation to Three Square to support those in need in the communities where we live and work,” said Cox’s Bolognini. “We know the need in Southern Nevada is great, and even more so during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Manheim General Manager Danny Brawn noted that both Cox and Manheim have long supported Three Square through employee volunteer efforts and Cox Charities grants.
Three Square distributed more than 41 million meals in 2019, the equivalent of more than 50 million pounds of food and grocery product through its community partners.
“Three Square Food Bank is heartened by the community’s outpouring of support for our mission during this challenging time of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Diana Bennett, former board chair and current member of Three Square’s Board of Directors. “A donation like this from the James M. Cox Foundation is needed now more than ever to help us deliver nutritious meals to Nevadans struggling with food insecurity.”
