Due to the widespread coronavirus, nearly 4,500 blood drives have been canceled and the American Red Cross is facing a severe blood shortage.
But local community management company Complete Association Management Co. (CAMCO) is giving Nevadans the chance to make a difference and save lives even during a crisis.
According to the Red Cross, there have been approximately 150,000 fewer blood donations since March 18. But, as part of their #camcocares initiative, CAMCO is looking to help turn that tide by hosting a blood drive from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, April 16 at their offices, 4775 W. Teco Ave.
The drive is open to the public, and donors can schedule an appointment by logging onto redcrossblood.org and entering code “CAMCO” or calling 800-733-2767.
The Red Cross assures potential donors that donating is a safe process. Additional precautions being taken to ensure safety are outlined at redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/dlp/coronavirus–covid-19–and-blood-donation.html
