LAS VEGAS – Grab the flip flops as students from Faith Lutheran’s award-winning Conservatory of the Fine Arts program offer up some Good Vibrations at Surfing the Arts, a collaborative entertainment showcase, March 7, 2020, at the school’s 782 seat chapel and performing arts center. Students from Faith’s five fine arts disciplines – Dance, Vocal Music, Theatrical Arts, Instrumental Music and Visual Arts – will perform to beach hits such as Margaritaville, Wipe Out and Under the Boardwalk.
The evening will feature a pre-show cocktail reception beginning at 6 p.m. with specialty beverages, hors d’oeuvres, silent auction and live auction led by professional auctioneer Christian Kolberg. Guests will be able to bid on hundreds of items, making this Faith’s largest silent auction. All proceeds benefit Faith’s Conservatory of the Fine Arts.
Guests are invited to wander through special galleries displaying featured artwork from Faith Lutheran’s visual arts students while treated to the music of Faith’s distinguished vocal and instrumental groups. At 7 p.m. guests will commence to Faith’s chapel and performing arts center to experience a night of world-class entertainment as the school’s talented students radiate the stage with performances that will inspire a passion for the arts.
“We have some of the best student talent in Southern Nevada and we are truly excited to showcase them to the public,” says Emily Slater, dean of Fine Arts at Faith Conservatory of the Arts. “Our Conservatory students have been accepted into many of the top Fine Arts programs in the country, including NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Syracuse College of Visual and Performing Arts, Boston Conservatory, Chapman University and Emerson College.”
The fundraiser will honor Doug Greig with the Champions of the Arts award for his continued involvement and commitment of Faith Lutheran theatre programs throughout the years.
Tickets to Surfing the Arts start at $75.00 and include admittance to the pre-show reception and performance. To purchase tickets or for more information, please visit www.faithconservatory.com.
