Here’s an evening of frozen entertainment you won’t want to let go.
Faith Lutheran will hold Faith on Ice, a fundraiser for the school’s ice hockey team, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, at City National Arena, 1550 S. Pavilion Center Drive. The night features a full slate of fun and food.
Children 12 and under can skate for free during the event’s first hour. Festivities will feature a skating performance by Katie Freter, the world’s 30th-ranked figure skater, a mascot race between Chance (Vegas Golden Knights) and Crusader Lu (Faith Lutheran), a silent auction and an on-ice live auction.
Live auction items include two sets of Vegas Golden Knights Glass Seats (including food and free parking), a trip for two to the Four Seasons in San Francisco (including a wine/cheese tasting at Sebastiani Winery), a goalie stick signed by the Golden Knights’ Marc-Andre Fleury, a Red Rock Regal Theater private movie box for 10 (including free food and drink) and more.
Proceeds benefit the Faith Lutheran ice hockey team, which debuted in 2018-19 to become Nevada’s first-ever official high school hockey team. Faith also has a middle school ice hockey program.
“Faith on Ice will help build and grow passion for the sport of hockey by supporting student athletics who want to build their skills and compete at a higher level,” said Robin Joyce, director of advancement, Faith Lutheran Middle School and High school.
Organizers expect 150 to 200 attendees; the fundraising goal is $75,000.
Tickets are $100 and include free food and drink (featuring wine from Foley Estates Vineyard and Winery). They’re available at faithonice.givesmart.com or by texting faithonice to 76278.
