Jobs for Nevada’s Graduates (JAG Nevada), a statewide high school dropout intervention and work readiness program, welcomes Mario Mongolo as the new Regional Coordinator in Northern Nevada based in JAG Nevada’s Reno office responsible for the coordination of JAG programs throughout the northern Nevada region.
“I grew up in the Reno/Sparks area before a JAG program existed and could have truly benefitted from the program,” said Mongolo. “The JAG mission is one that inspires a student to change themselves for the better. I am proud to be a part of that.”
He first found his passion for teaching while serving in the United States Navy. After transitioning out of the military he started his teaching career at Swope Middle School to run the Creative Learning Systems Lab.
“Early in my life, I considered education a barrier that I had to overcome, but I made sure that my children did not view it that way,” said Mongolo. “I look forward to bringing that personal passion and success to the JAG program.”
Jim Dahl, JAG Nevada Regional Program Director, appreciates having Mario on the team. “Mario is a great addition to our JNG family. He brings with him a deep passion to help broaden the horizons of the students we get the privilege to work with.”
