A preventative health and wellness company is leveraging technology to transform health care in Southern Nevada. e7 Health CEO and Founder Jonathan Baktari, M.D.’s team has developed a software program that combines electronic medical records and practice management software that offers patients safe and high-quality care.
The company specializes in seven areas of health care including, Travel Medicine, Student Health, Corporate Health Services, Drug Testing, STD Testing, Physicals and Labs, and Vaccines.
According to Dr. Baktari, the lack of efficiencies and technologies surrounding these segments prompted him and his team to develop the software program, e7 Charts.
“Many companies do not invest much in these areas since it is not their core business, and we needed a software system that could incorporate all seven facets together,” said Dr. Baktari, who launched the software program in 2017. “There was nothing off the shelf we could buy because there was nobody else doing what we do.”
e7 Charts is a cloud-based platform that auto populates everything for the patients and staff, resulting in no more paper forms to fill out for each visit. Patients can fill out all medical forms electronically either when they register for an appointment at home or during their visit in the office.
Additionally, if a service is completed and results are ready by the time the patient leaves, the findings are automatically uploaded to that patient’s portal.
Recently, e7 Health integrated its software with the diagnostic laboratories it works with so patient test results can be uploaded directly into their patient portal. Plus, patients experience conveniences such as booking appointments online and text message reminders of appointments or when their next vaccinations are due.
During 2018-2019, e7 Health enhanced the safety features of its software to protect patients in all areas of their visit to one of its two clinics in Las Vegas. In fact, seven to 10 new safety features are added each month, according to Baktari.
For example, to provide an extra layer of protection for patients requesting a vaccine, e7 Health integrated its software system with the Nevada WebIZ database, the statewide immunization database that contains vaccination records. This enables e7 Health staff to view the patient’s e7 chart and identify whether a vaccine is needed.
Plus, the technology can automatically identify when a vaccine is expired or when it’s too soon for a patient to receive a follow up vaccine.
Students in Allied Health programs are offered a one-stop shop with on-site vaccinations, TB skin testing, blood titers, drug testing and physical exam clinics for the entire class.
For large corporate clients, e7 Health’s software enables company executives to search their employee medical records and serves as a tool to archive them.
For staff members, e7 Health created e7 University, an online education tool that provides employees with dozens of courses. Employees can access courses from anywhere, furthering their knowledge and expanding their ability to address patient’s questions and health care concerns.
The success and growth of the company is reflected in its positive reviews online and increased profitability. Since opening in 2017, e7 Health has grown its business by more than 40 percent and is the largest private travel medicine clinic in Southern Nevada, offering every vaccine commercially available in the United States.
With its two locations in Las Vegas, and one in Chicago, e7 Health has plans to open additional clinic locations nationwide.
“We strive to provide clients and patients with an extraordinary service that is efficient, comfortable and easy to navigate in ways they won’t experience anywhere else,” said Baktari, whose company has more than 8,000 positive reviews on its web site with three to five being added daily.
