A pair of attorneys who ensure drivers in wrecks get checks will bring order to Faith Lutheran’s court.
Injury attorney Glen Lerner, who operates the Lerner & Rowe law firm with fellow attorney Kevin Rowe and is known for his commercials on Las Vegas television and radio, will unveil the newly named Lerner & Rowe Courtroom (formerly the Mock Trial Courtroom) at Faith Lutheran Middle School & High School, 2015 S. Hualapai, at 11:45 a.m. Sept. 12.
The courtroom is part of the school’s Justice & Advocacy Academy.
The Mock Trial Courtroom opened in September 2015 as part of a $1.8 million, 8,720-square-foot addition to the school that also included five new classrooms. It features an 8-foot screen and projector, a 65-inch television for video presentations, multiple speakers and microphones to record competitions and practices, and a camera to record activity from behind the bar.
Lerner will speak at the unveiling along with Faith Lutheran Chief Executive Officer Steve Buuck, Principal Scott Fogo, and Board Chairman Jon Linker. Lerner said he and his firm donated $100,000 to Faith because he believes in the school and its mission.
Lerner & Rowe, which employs 50 attorneys and 400 support employees, operates in nine states including Nevada, Arizona, California, Washington and Oregon in the Western United States. In Southern Nevada, the firm has offices in Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Pahrump.
The courtroom offers students interested in prelaw; government and public affairs; or nonprofit management a realistic place to practice skills. Justice & Advocacy Academy students must maintain a weighted GPA of 3.5 or above in core classes, complete of a 50-hour internship program is also required and continually participate in Mock Trial, Moot Court, We the People, Model United Nations or Trial by Peers.
