LAS VEGAS – Recently, Steve Borgna, SVP and state credit administrator, received the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation from the CCIM Institute, making him the second Nevada State Bank colleague to achieve the distinction. Borgna holds the CCIM designation along with Nevada State Bank Commercial Appraisal Reviewer Alan Erickson and about 97 other professionals in the Southern Nevada region. Nevada State Bank is the only financial institution in Southern Nevada with colleagues who hold the CCIM designation. Headquartered in Chicago, CCIM Institute is one of the largest global commercial real estate networks.
Borgna received the CCIM designation during the CCIM Institute’s Midyear Governance Meetings held in early April. To earn the distinction, commercial real estate professionals must complete more than 160 hours of case-study driven education covering topics such as interest-based negotiation, financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, investment analysis, and ethics in commercial investment real estate. Candidates must also compile a portfolio demonstrating the depth of their commercial real estate experience and pass a comprehensive examination.
“This achievement is a testament to Steve’s hard work and dedication to his profession. It’s a big deal that he’s one of two Nevada State Bank colleagues to hold the designation, and that we’re the only bank in Southern Nevada with CCIM-qualified colleagues. I am extremely proud of Steve’s accomplishment,” said Terry Shirey, President and CEO of Nevada State Bank.
