Lyons Physical Therapy, specializing in a wide range of therapy services, has opened a second location to better serve patients on the west side including Summerlin, Spring Valley and other communities. Its practice specializes in acute orthopedic injuries following motor vehicle accidents and slip and fall injuries. Lyons Physical Therapy also works with many orthopedic surgeons and neurosurgeons assisting patients recovery from surgery.
Founder John Lyons, MSPT, MCMT, OCS opened Lyons Physical Therapy in 2016 to focus on orthopedic treatment and rehabilitation in Las Vegas. The staff evaluates each patient and their specific needs since everyone is unique. Modalities such as traction, moist heat, electric stimulation, cryotherapy, ultrasound, dry needling and iontophoresis are incorporated. Manual Therapy options include massage, manipulations, myofascial release, joint mobilization and trigger point release. Treatments also include supervised stretching and strengthening.
John decided to become a physical therapist after suffering injuries playing high school and college athletics and benefiting from treatment. John achieved a Mastery Certification in Manual Therapy from Hands-On Seminars in New York focused on joint mobilizations, trigger point release and myofascial release. He is also Board Certified in Orthopaedics by the American Physical Therapy Association.
After moving to Las Vegas in 2004 and working for others, “developing some wonderful, professional relationships in the community, I knew I wanted to open my own practice,” Lyons says. “We can offer physical therapy in a very modern setting with state-of-the-art technology. There is also a gym and private treatment rooms.”
The practice works with a wide variety of patients, from young adolescents to seniors. Therapy includes pre-operative and post-operative treatment, personal injury care in coordination with attorneys and provides education to each patient. Bilingual staff members can assist all Spanish-speaking patients.
There are two locations of Lyons Physical Therapy including in the heart of Las Vegas at 600 South Tonopah, Suite 230 and now serving the west valley at 3012 S. Durango Drive.
