The state of Nevada Housing Division (NHD) is partnering with Commissioner Lawrence Weekly to host a Homebuyer Assistance Workshop, Saturday, April 13, 2019 from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Walnut Recreational Center, 3085 N. Walnut Road, Las Vegas, NV 89115.
“Many people don’t realize the state offers real money that can help them purchase a home and we want to help as many people as possible to take advantage of these programs,” said Nia Girma, NHD’s homebuyer programs specialist in the Las Vegas area. “Home prices are rising quickly, so now is the time to buy before they’re priced out of the market.”
The event includes:
• Government programs to assist with down payments and closing costs
• Special loan programs for teachers and veterans
• New programs for first-time homebuyers
• Low interest rate programs
• Free credit repair advice and debt consolidation programs by Nevada Partners
Commissioner Weekly encourages residents to attend because homeownership is an important step toward financial independence and wealth building, but he’s concerned that people are missing out on many great opportunities that are designed to assist them in getting into a home.
“I am pleased to partner with the state of Nevada Housing Division on this important event,” Commissioner Weekly said. “There are too many residents who are paying rent which is steadily rising, when they could own their own home and put that money toward building their own wealth.”
