LAS VEGAS – The Foundation Assisting Seniors held their annual volunteer appreciation dinner on Feb. 6, at Revere Golf Club in Henderson where they named Karl Vonderohe as their 2018 Person of the Year.
The Person of the Year is an award given by the organization to a volunteer whose service and contribution goes above and beyond expectation and impacts the mission of the Foundation in a noteworthy manner. Vonderohe was named the Foundation Assisting Seniors Person of the Year 2018 for his leadership of the annual fall golf tournament and his ongoing service and contribution to the Foundation, specifically to residents of the Aliante community.
“Karl has single-handedly run our Aliante golf tournament for the last four years,” says Carol Chapman, president of Foundation Assisting Seniors. “He has been an excellent contributor to our Public Relations Committee and always makes himself available to assist the seniors in Aliante and North Las Vegas with deliveries and light home maintenance. He is an incredible volunteer and we are so grateful he chooses to serve the seniors in the Las Vegas Valley.”
The Foundation Assisting Seniors was founded with the mission of improving the quality of life for the senior community by assisting them in times of illness, recovery, confinement at home, coping with the loss of a loved one and other senior challenges, as well as to provide assistance with everyday tasks such as household maintenance and transportation.
