The Foundation Assisting Seniors held their annual appreciation dinner on February 6, 2019 at Revere Golf Club in Henderson.
“This event is a great way to gather our volunteers, enjoy time together and thank them for doing important work for seniors in the Las Vegas Valley,” said Carol Chapman, president of The Foundation Assisting Seniors. “We also use this time to honor extraordinary leadership and service to the Foundation.”
The event culminated with the presentation of awards. Rana Goodman was presented a Special Achievement Award for her advocacy and activism for change in guardianship laws in Nevada. Karl Vonderohe was named the Foundation Assisting Seniors Person of the Year 2018 for his leadership of the annual fall golf tournament and his ongoing service and contribution to the Foundation, specifically to residents of the Aliante community.
The Foundation Assisting Seniors was founded with the mission of improving the quality of life for the senior community by assisting them in times of illness, recovery, confinement at home, coping with the loss of a loved one and other senior challenges, as well as to provide assistance with everyday tasks such as household maintenance and transportation. Since its inception in 2002, the Foundation has responded to more than 100,000 requests for assistance services.
