LAS VEGAS/CARSON CITY – The Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development board approved applications for ten businesses, which could mean over 420 new jobs and $635,280,359 in capital investment for the Silver State. One of the businesses Nevada is welcoming to the state is Google, which plans to create a $600 million data center in Henderson, Nev. This new data center touts 50 new employment positions with an average wage of $31.25 an hour.

Aqua Metals, Inc. – Storey County (50 jobs and $1,334,289 in capital investments)
Aqua Metals, Inc. is the world’s only clean battery recycling company and built the world’s first AquaRefining™ lead facility in Nevada’s Tahoe Reno Industrial Center (TRIC) in mid-2016. Lead is an integral component in over a billion electrical storage devices used across the globe including every car and truck, hybrid and electric vehicle. Lead based batteries provide backup power for hospitals, electrify households and are the primary mode of energy storage for buildings, data centers and telecom. Lead is a finite resource with a rising demand.
Berkley International – Carson City (28 jobs and $9,204,500 in capital investments)
Berkley International is a family owned business that manufactures environmentally-friendly molded fiber products. Molded fiber is the most consumer identifiable packaging medium in the market and is made by taking 100% recycled paper, breaking down the paper, blending it with water, and reforming and drying the part. Recycled fibers used include recycled newsprint and corrugated boxes. Berkley International’s domestic, state-of-the-art molded fiber manufacturing equipment gives the company the ability to deliver impactful, premium sustainable packaging in a timely and cost-effective manner. In addition to supplying much of the wine packaging to Northern California, the company supplies protective packaging for numerous products in Utah and California. The company’s services also include design, tooling, as well as custom turnkey solutions.
Google/Design, LLC – Clark County (50 jobs and $600,000,000 in capital investments)
Design, LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Google. Google was founded in 1998 and is a U.S.-based technology company that offers internet-related services and products. Google operates multiple data centers in the country and around the world. It has a diversified portfolio of internet-related services and products which include online advertising technologies, search engine, cloud computing, software, and hardware. In 2015, Google reorganized its various interests under a new entity, Alphabet Inc. As of June 30, 2018, the company and its affiliates had 89,058 full-time employees. Google’s infrastructure requirements have increased as its customer base and demand for its products and services has grown. This project would make Nevada an important part of the company’s growth strategy. The proposed data center will primarily service the company’s customers in North America. For the purposes of the data center abatement, Design, LLC will own the personal property and Google will operate and employ individuals at the data center.
FOX Factory, Inc. – Washoe County (50 jobs and $832,500 in capital investments)
For over three decades, FOX Factory, Inc. has been an industry leader in the design and development of high-performance shock absorbers and racing suspension products for snowmobiles, mountain bikes, motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, off-road cars, trucks, and SUVs. The company is a direct supplier to leading power vehicle original equipment manufacturers (‘OEMs’). Additionally, the company supplies top bicycle OEMs and their contract manufacturers and provides aftermarket products to retailers and distributors. The company’s equipped vehicles and racers have stood atop podiums in every sport they have competed in, from the sands of Baja to the dunes of Dakar.
Happie Home, Inc. – Clark County (51 jobs and $130,000 in capital investments)
HAPPIE is the Internet of Things (IoT) to form the bridge that connects the Smart, Secure Home of today with the Health, Wellness and Tele-Medicine goals of tomorrow. The HAPPIE system is designed to provide the approx. 43.5 million unpaid caregivers with a hardware, software and artificial intelligence (AI) solution that enables them to better care for their loved ones, while simultaneously empowering those they care for with the ability to more safely and securely remain in their home, maintaining their independence and enabling them to age-in-place. HAPPIE is controlled by Natural Language Processing (NLP) to make requests and inquiries of the HAPPIE Application. Answers and results, messages, reminders and alerts are displayed on the television. The HAPPIE proprietary technology allows HAPPIE to work with most cable and satellite television service providers as well as Amazon Fire Stick, Apple TV and streaming services. The system includes a Caregiver Portal which is accessible from the smart phone, tablet or computer of the caregiver. Here caregivers can see a visual representation of the activities of daily living (ADL). This is where the Smart Home meets Home Security and intersects with Health and Wellness. The system also includes the ‘Mic Pack’, a proprietary combination of hardware and AI software to act as a hallway monitor, intelligent slip-and-fall detection device and data collection point for wearable technology like smart watches, Fitbit and health monitoring equipment. HAPPIE’s goal is to deliver peace of mind for all.
James Loudspeaker, LLC – Douglas County (16 jobs and $2,950,000 in capital investments)
James Loudspeaker, LLC is a designer and manufacturer of custom installation loudspeaker products. For nine years, the company has been designing, manufacturing, and marketing specialized and very high-performance loudspeaker products for the custom home installation market. Using the latest in material technology and patented designs, the company produces a wide range of products. James Loudspeaker, LLC designs all of its products from the ground up, using aircraft aluminum backboxes and baffles for a full range in walls, in ceiling, and in wall woofers. Most of the full range products include a patented adjustable crossover network that allows the user to tune the speaker to the room as well as make the systems impervious to over powering. The company’s unique products include ‘power pipe’ subwoofers for concealed bass indoors, subterranean outdoor subwoofers for high output bass with very little intrusion into the environment, unique outdoor satellites for distributed sound to match the powerful subs, 1.5” thick on-wall system, and many more unique and patented products.
Owned Outcomes – Clark County (12 jobs and $129,000 in capital investments)

Owned Outcomes, Inc. is currently helping providers serve patients in 31 states through 10,000+ physicians representing $10bn+ of medical spend. The company conducts cutting edge research in health IT and, in 2018, received two provisional patents in seminal areas of computer science – (i) tensor form to optimize convolutional neural networks for time-based data (ii) active design method to render data driven insights in scaled applications.

The company offers spring, drinking, purified, artesian, distilled, fluoride, and well water. The company also offers water cooler systems; single cup brewers and thermal brewing systems for home and office delivery. Premium Waters, Inc. manufactures its product from the ground up, starting with plastic resin, blowing the bottle, filling, labeling and packaging. It sells its products through a network of bottling plants and distribution centers, as well as distributors. Currently the company donates water to hundreds of causes that support community efforts in more than 35 states. Premium Waters, Inc. is a member of the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA).
Redwood Materials, Inc. – Carson City (31 jobs and $3,841,720 in capital investments)
Redwood Materials, Inc. is a company that uses sustainable processes to recover technology materials from post-consumer and post-industrial electronics. Redwood Materials, Inc. was founded in 2017 by a team of engineers and scientists who saw the growing problem of electronic waste ending up in landfills, and the need for expanding the infrastructure for processing this waste, in a sustainable manner, into useful materials for the technology industry. With the long-term decrease in ownership cycles for consumer electronics, this problem is only expected to grow. The Redwood Materials, Inc. team set out to solve this problem by developing new chemical, metallurgical, and mechanical technologies for recovering materials from electronics, and deploying these technologies in high-tech processing facilities. In addition, Redwood Materials, Inc. is exploring applications in related industries that have a long history in Nevada, such as mining. The company’s current operations consist of three major functions: 1) procurement of feedstock, including different types of post-consumer and post-industrial electronics, 2) primary processing of those technology materials, and 3) marketing those new materials to specialty refiners.
rfXcel Corporation – Washoe County (82 jobs and $625,000 in capital investments)
rfXcel Corporation was founded in 2003 and is currently based in San Ramon, California. The company provides software as a service (SaaS) based solutions that enable enterprises in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage and other industries to quickly achieve their product serialization, traceability and compliance needs to prevent counterfeits from compromising their supply chain. rfXcel Corporation is the first company to focus on the safety of pharmaceutical supply chain and its platform provides compliance, serialization, traceability, and monitoring solutions to manufacturers, repackagers, wholesalers, distributors, and dispensers in pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. The company also provides services for the U.S. public sector, including federal agencies, state and local governments, as well as defense and law enforcement. Since the rfXcel Corporation’s solution is delivered completely in the ‘cloud’, the company would be able to service customers anywhere in the world from its Reno facility.
