New bypass is set to alleviate traffic
C and S Company, Inc., a DBE and WBE certified construction subcontractor that specializes in underground utility work, recently completed phase one of the new I-11 bypass. When it reaches completion, Interstate 11 will connect Las Vegas to Phoenix.
“This project is the largest that our company has taken on in recent years,” said Stacey Lindburg, owner of C and S Company. “My team provided top-quality work in an efficient and professional manner, enabling NDOT and Fisher Industries to complete the project on-time.”
C and S Company, Inc. started work on phase one of the I-11 bypass in October 2016 and finished in August 2018. C and S Company, Inc. had 20 workers on the project, who completed all the necessary work to remove and relocate NV Energy, City of Henderson Water and Sewer mains, Cox Communications, Century Link, AT&T and Las Vegas Valley Water District Water Main. C and S Company also installed all the Nevada Department of Transportation’s new Street Lighting and Intelligent Traffic Systems(ITS) including traffic monitoring cameras.
A ceremony was held at the I-11 overlook on Thursday, August 9 with the other project teams to mark the opening of the new section of freeway, also known as the Boulder City Bypass. Motorists are now able to drive fifteen miles of the new I-11, which will reduce travel time to Arizona.
